Fuel tanker pump bursts, spilling thousands of litres of petrol at Fernvale

The PSPA at Fernvale has now been revoked. The Brisbane Valley Highway has one lane open – delays are expected.

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing incident at Fernvale.

A large exclusion zone was established around a service station following a fuel tanker pump bursting, spiling thousands of litres of petrol at about 10am.

There is no fire and no injuries.

The fuel will need to evaporate over several hours, closing the Brisbane Valley Highway near the incident.

Diversions are in place via Forest Hill Fernvale Road to Glanmorgan Vale Road.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
